A couple more things ticked off the list

So, I now have confirmation from the Student Finance people that I will be getting a loan. This is good news, as it is also proof that I need to send to uni to confirm that I am eligible for the training bursary!

I have also managed to get myself into a couple of schools for my pre-course week of observation that is one less thing to worry about.

What a teacher makes

Why I’m leaving business

Watching The Apprentice last night just confirmed to me exactly why I’m doing this. I am clearly not cut out for the business world. I can’t stand the backstabbing (okay, so I’m not naieve and I’m sure that exists in teaching). But more than that I can’t abide the restrictions and the need to be a certain way.

I guess I’m hoping that the classroom will give me a bit of freedom and allow me to be … more … me. If that makes sense.

That, and it is a job that means something. It makes a difference rather than just making money.

Ah, that reminds me. *toddles off to YouTube*

Welcome

First posts are always boring so I’ll keep this short and sweet :)

I have taken the plunge and I have a place on a PGCE course to do Secondary RE in Sept 08. Really excited about it, but nervous at the same time!

This blog will be about my course, my thoughts on teaching, and websites on teaching in general, and RE specifically.
